Part 5 of 2021 Last race Södertälje

Race 4 in Södertälje at the Tuvängen Ring

Stockholm traffic on a Friday afternoon ...sucks

Space was tight for campers at the track - as usual most had arrived early and
there was not much space left - so we camped up on the parking area  - it worked well enough

Home work

Race one Travis started in 5th was going well until about the 3rd lap when the bike died -

We worked on the bike that evening - we think it was the electrics again with a bad connection.

Lewis finished in last place

Second race
Travis started in 4th - this time the bike worked well and he finished in 4th place just behind Johnny
Lewis came last and was having real problems getting the bike to buz in the gears.

That was our season done for 2021 - it was a mixed season - we suffered injuries, crashes and mechanical failures - it was a learning year for the minigp bikes in the stock class and we have learnt a lot from it and had a lot of fun too -

Back home, unpacked and time for some moto gp

Part 4 2021 Race 3 Skövde

  Race 3 Skövde August 28-29th 2021

So back to Skövde!

we raced here a few years ago when the boys first started out in minimoto.

We rocked up in the evening on Friday and just about everyplace was taken - luckily though the space  nearest the track that was reserved for something was where we parked - nice spot.
As you can see it was a Damp drizzly weekend.
we didn't have to change tires too much -
wets stayed on and we made the bike ready
 for wet conditions

looking into our pits from the comfort of the camper

I think we had the right set up for qualifying
Travis was quickest and took pole

as much weather protection as possible

Lewis - knee down in the wet - Some valuable wet weather acing skills found during this wet weekend

Race one - Travis on Pole and Lewis 5th on the grid

In race 1 Travis had a mechanical break down - rear sprocket again, he crashed out and so had a DNF. Lewis had a nice race, no drama and finished the race in last place.

Race 2 results

Lewis 4th and Travis 5th

In the second race on Sunday Travis crashed out while in the mix for 2nd place - he managed to get up and get going again but crashed again while pushing to catch up - he ended up finishing last Lewis is 4th

2021 part 3 Race 2 in Borås

Borås round 2 2022

Unfortunately Travis had a crash on his bike at practice just two weeks before the second race  - He was bucked out of the seat on a fast right hand bend which up set the bike and meant he landed on the bike hitting his collarbone - luckily it was not broken but it was hit hard enough that doctors advised not to race for a month or so and that it would need to be kept in a sling for that amount of time

So just lewis entered the race in Borås - and what a place - very cool track that we had never seen before and the heavens opened Saturday night - which meant a very wet race on Sunday - see our pictures below from that weekend.

2021 part 2 Racing again! - Västerås round 1

             Race 1 Västerås 2022 - 12-13 June

Calendar came out later in 2021

4 races for the season

So we started tweaking the bikes, seeing if we could get a little more performance and get the bikes competitive for the season

standard exhaust removed
New performance exhaust fitted

Below are the lap records for each class as of 2021
Stock class is 41.783 - since 2013 !
Our goal is to beat this...

We arrived early and set ourselves up in our usual place and made the bikes ready for the weekend - nice weather and plenty of teams and riders had made it for the start of the season.

Travis qualified 2nd with a 43.006 behind Gustaf who had a 42.301
Lewis was last and was still learning the gears - bad gear selection around the track gave him his fastest lap time of 47.522

2nd place for Travis in race 1

DNF for Travis in race 2
slid out when he touched the grass on lap 4

Lewis last 47.061 - getting a little faster !

we had some new problems during the weekend - rear sprocket bolts coming loose was one
trying out a new sprocket that didn't match the chain pitch was a stupid error too...

"but a man who never made a mistake never made anything !"

Eddy trying a mini moto out again and enjoying it - he will try more in 2022

Evening track fun

The second race was held on Sunday, it was the opposite way around which makes a whole new circuit

Travis looking a bit miffed straight after his DNF in race 2  - Lewis although is very happy that he "beat" his older brother

Packing up and heading home after a fun weekend
